Title of Event/Activity: Maine Celebrates Treatment Works Abstract/Description of Event/Activity: This is the second annual statewide celebration for Maine people whose lives have been touched by addiction and recovery. A group of local and nationally recognized presenters and performers will share, from the heart, what they have learned about these critical issues. The day long program will feature Tim Sample, Downeast humorist and CBS News correspondent; Philip Diaz, Executive Director of Gateway Community Services; a panel of recovering people addressing "The Impact of Recovery;" and The Improbable Players, a theater troupe from Watertown, MA. Lynn Duby, Director of the Maine Office of Substance Abuse will open the event. The program is scheduled from 9 AM to 4:30 PM. The $20 registration fee includes lunch and refreshments. There will be a wide range of resource tables and opportunities for networking with other participants.
