Recovering Our Future B One Youth At A Time: A Raleigh Community Forum

*Abstract/Description of Event/Activity:
Panelists at this forum will discuss drugs of choice of adolescents, including marijuana; the lack of sufficient funding for treatment and treatment options, the use of developmental assets to raise resilient children and teenagers; concern about parents who either do not recognize the signs or substance abuse or deny that their children have a problem, denying that it=s happening; and the lack of information to parents to let them know where to go for help.

The Adolescent Substance Abuse Planning Project of Northern Ky. will be sponsoring two training and discussion forums to acquaint system professionals with the project and seek their involvement in a regional (8-county) needs assessment and strategic plan.

Keynote Speaker: Janice Gabe, nationally known expert in adolescent substance abuse, will give a presentation entitled, "Millenium Teens: Coping in a Culture of Change"

Project Partners: NorthKey Community Care, Brighton Center, Transitions, Inc., Catholic Social Services and Family Service of No. Ky.

Funded by a grant from the Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati
