*Title of Event/Activity: Recovering Our Future: One Youth at a Time - A Baltimore Community Forum *Abstract/Description of Event/Activity: Panelists at this forum will discuss treatment services for adolescents, the challenge to develop and implement a good system for matching people to the type of services they need, and the lack of a full continuum of services: there is in-patient and outpatient, for example, but no intensive outpatient. In addition, they will discuss the lack of sufficient number of residential beds. The beds that exist are difficult to access because of clients are handled through managed care organizations that do not want to pay for residential treatment. Panelists will also examine the re-occurrence of heroin addiction among kids. *Date(s) of the Event/Activity: Saturday, September 23, 2000, from 9 am - 12 noon, at Arlington Elementary School #234, 3705 West Rogers Avenue *Who Should Participate: The target audiences will include youth, policymakers and health insurers, judges, health professionals who serve adolescents, schools and the education community, juvenile/criminal justice system, workplace/employers, community-based organizations serving youth, the faith community, the media, the medical community, and of course, parents and their families.
