From Unbecoming a Nurse to Overcoming Addiction  (1429)

The speaker, Paula Davies Scimeca, RN, MS is a national expert on addiction in the nursing profession and the author of two recent books. Her first book, Unbecoming a Nurse, outlines the need for education & early intervention to help nurses “bypass the
hidden chemical dependency trap.” Her second book, From Unbecoming a Nurse to Overcoming Addiction, profiles 29 "candid self-portraits of nurses in recovery.” This conference will address topics related to addiction prevention, impairment and recovery in the
nursing profession. It will also highlight recovery resources available to nurses in our state & will feature a speakers' panel of nurses from Maine!
