Walk-Away From Drugs and Alcohol Walk-A-Thon  (1267)

We are having a walk-a-thon and rally to raise awareness about the devastating affects that drugs and alcohol have on our community and about the reality of how bad it has hit our area. All pledge money will be added to a scholarship fund for agencies
in San Luis Obispo Counties Recovery Field to help to fund men and women who may not be able to pay for treatment and services.


Location: The walk will begin at the on ramp to Grover Beach, in the Fin's Parking lot on Grand avenue and end at Strother Park in Arroyo Grande with a BBQ ,Raffle, Booths, Speaker Meeting and Community Fellowship.

The walk will begin where Grand Avenue meets the ocean in Grover beach.


Sponsoring Organizations: Captive Hearts Recovery Services, San Luis Obispo County Drug and Alcohol, and all local Surrounding Recovery Services and Prevention Agencies


Type of Event: Walk, run, BBQ , Raffle Rally and speaker meeting


Program Agenda: Individual walkers can pick up pledge packets at our office at 882 Grand avenue, to collect pledges to add to the scholarship fund we are creating for this county. Raffle tickets will be on sale in our office and in local agencies. All walkers who obtain
pledges will receive a free meal ticket and other community members can give a donation for their BBQ lunch, everyone is welcome at the event. The event itself is FREE and will be tons of fun and a great place for networking, fellowship, support and education
on the disease of addiction and the treatment available in our community ! We are in the process of recruiting other agencies to join forces and bring out material and or booths on what services they have to offer, this will be a great opportunity to get your
name out there and provide this community with the information it needs to pull out of the despair of this ongoing disease. HELP US TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY !!! There is no charge... Just give our office a call at 805-481-4500.
