Events for the Month: On September 18, 2012, Mayor Teresa Tomlinson signed a proclamation designating the month of September as "Recovery Month" for Columbus, GA. Representative from CUIR, aired on two Local TV Shows (WLTZ and WTVM), three radio broadcasting
, in an effort to educate the Columbus, GA public about prevention,treatment and recovery, how it works, for whom and why.The lives of several of our residents have been positively transformed through recovery. September 29th was CUIR first Recovery Celebration:
M/C Al Haynes, Radio Announcer and Talk Show Host, Guest Speakers (Family and an indivdual who shared their recovery story). Muscogee County Sheriff John Darr and DA, Julia Slater of Chattahoochee Circuit voiced their support to the Recovery Community (CUIR).
Local Bands (Tripp Wrigley, Phillip Floyd. Singleterry and Al Whitehead) and Special guest from Damascus Way S/A program provided entertainment. Throughout the event, there were t-shirts, balloons, food,other free give aways. face painting and something for
the entire family. There were ten agencies representing.
