Headland IGA Touchdown Recovery Display  (4411)

09/19/2012 9:00 AM - 09/19/2012 3:00 PM

In honor of National Recovery Month, this year SpectraCare Health Systems, Inc. wanted to celebrate recovery by joining with one of South Alabama’s favorite pastimes- Football! Staff members designed a football field that illustrates a person’s field of
recovery. One end zone is “Addiction” and the other is “Recovery.” Our main player, “N.Recovery,” is halfway up the field, having already tackled some of Addiction’s team members- alcohol, tobacco, marijuana. He still faces other opponents, among them cocaine,
heroin, hydrocodone. Each field line shows another part of addiction that he overcomes on his run for recovery. On the addiction end he overcomes abuse, tolerance, denial, and loss. The fifty yard line has him hitting bottom! Then, as he picks up yardage he
also gains hope, faith, healing, and peace. He has many cheerleaders on the sideline supporting and cheering for him as he fights for his life! Family, friends, counselors, 12 step groups and his faith based community all are cheering him on his journey.
