Journey to Recovery 2012

Journey to Recovery 2012  (4501)

09/26/2012 11:30 AM - 09/26/2012 3:00 PM

Aliviane, Inc. a non-profit organization hosted its 3rd annual fashion show and graduation ceremony, Journey to Recovery 2012. Women in recovery from Aliviane’s Tigua Women & Children’s Residential Center (TWCRC) and the Abandoned Infants Assistance, Family
Outpatient Program (AIA-FOP), were recognized for their accomplishments in the recovery process. The TWCRC is funded by the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the AIA-FOP is a grant funded program through the Administration for Children, Youth,
and Families. The event featured a runway fashion show of empowered women and their children in different stages of recovery and included photographic video testimonials, poetry performances, children performances, and a short film produced by New Hero Pictures
called ‘Path to Recovery’ featuring two clients from the TWCRC. Community partners were invited to the ballroom luncheon event which was hosted by local entertainment reporter and Channel 9 meteorologist Mark Mathis. In recognition of SAMHSA’s Recovery Month,
the event was a great success and a culminating moment for the participants and staff of our programs, and the community members in attendance.
