Recovery Celebration and Chili Cook-Off  (4335)

09/22/2012 11:00 AM - 09/22/2012 1:00 PM

We are all aware of the grim statistics regarding substance abuse here in Alaska. According to the National Substance Abuse Index and U.S. Department of Health and Social Services, Alaskans average among the highest per capita as users of controlled substances.
Good news - there is hope! The Salvation Army is one of Alaska’s leading behavioral health providers, successfully treating alcohol and chemical abuse through our Adult Rehabilitation Program and Clitheroe Center. These life-changing programs allow individuals
in recovery to build strengths and skills necessary to become productive, healthy members of the community thanks to faithful friends like you. September is National Recovery Month. You are invited to join us for a Chili Cook-Off and Recovery Celebration on
Saturday, Sep 22nd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m. at The Salvation Army Community Center. In addition, there will also be a community resource fair and special guest speakers.
