September is National Recovery Month and our date has been set for our first Recovery Walk! This event will be held in downtown Annapolis on September 15th and will start at 8am. Our goal is to raise awareness to the surrounding community, families and
local business owners and show that recovery is possible! Recovery Month spreads the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, that prevention works, treatment is effective and people can and do recover. Mental and/or substance
use disorders affect all communities nationwide, but with commitment and support, people with these disorders can achieve healthy lifestyles and lead rewarding lives in recovery.


Location: Downtown Annapolis Maryland. Parking available in parking garage @ Clay and West Washington Street for a cost. Free parking available @ the Bladen Street garage.

Program Agenda: Walk registration begins at 8 am (Walk is approximately 1.3 miles long) At 9:30 am: Keynote speakers start and breakfast is served. Conclude at 12 noon.


Invited Officials / Presenters: Anne Arundel County Health Officer Dr.Angela Wakhweya & Annapolis Mayor Josh Cohen and County Executive John Leopold. Also presenting: Dave Tieff, local and national recording artist who will combine his hit music and unique message.


Targeted participants for this year's event: 200


Invited Participants / Audience: The community, community leaders, families, local business owners. There will be resource tables to help participants locate help in many areas.
