In celebration of SAMHSA’s National Recovery Month, Chestnut Health Systems is excited to bring the ROCKSTAR SUPERSTAR PROJECT Rockin’ Recovery Tour 2012 to Bloomington/Normal. On September 29th at 7:00 p.m., the ROCKSTAR SUPERSTAR PROJECT Rockin’ Recovery
Tour 2012 will perform a family friendly sober concert that not only brings awareness to the disease of addiction but celebrates recovery – an event that spreads HOPE for all those affected by addiction. Tickets may be purchased at the BCPA box office by calling
309.434.2777 or 866.686.9541 or online at artsblooming.org ($10.00 Adults, $6.00 Students and Seniors, Free for ages 5 and under.) The ROCKSTAR SUPERSTAR PROJECT (RSSS) was founded in 2008 by twin brothers, who legally changed their names to Rock Star and
Super Star in an effort to raise awareness to substance use disorder. The initial vision was to write and record original music for a CD, capturing the grip of addiction and the serenity found in recovery. Guest musicians from the bands KISS, Heart, Goo Goo
Dolls, Dokken, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and more lent their support to record the ROCKSTAR SUPERSTAR PROJECT rockin’ CD titled Serenity. Through the recording of Serenity, Super Star, who battled a 15 year drug addiction, found his passion in life. And today
he lives with a commitment geared toward anti-substance abuse campaigning while encouraging people to overcome obstacles with a creative boldness and live with purpose just as he has. On September 29th, Super Star will be joined by internationally known musicians
who will perform a rockin’ concert with an inspiring message about Rebranding Sobriety because “it’s cool to be sober”! Joining the ROCKSTAR SUPERSTAR PROJECT band this year to bring this inspiring message of hope through music are Veronica Freeman (lead vocals),
Pete Wells (lead guitar), Chris Shrum (bass), and Rikard Stjernquist (drums/percussion). Veronica and Chris were guest musicians that participated in the recording of the RSSS CD, Serenity. Veronica also sang with the ROCKSTAR SUPERSTAR PROJECT band last year
at the Philadelphia (PA) and Albany (NY) Tour stops performing an out-of-this world live performance of the song Mistress Insidious from Serenity. This is guaranteed to be a rockin’ great time! Join us at the BCPA for a celebration of recovery!
