2013 NAMIWalk Oklahama  (4745)

05/18/2013 8:00 AM - 05/18/2013 12:00 AM

We hope you'll save the date for Oklahoma's 10th annual NAMIWalks on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Last May over 2,000 Oklahomans walked to raise awareness about mental illness and break down the pervasive stigma that surrounds it. Mental illnesses are brain
disorders that often affect people in the prime of life. Without treatment the consequences are dire-unemployment, homelessness, substance abuse, inappropriate incarceration, suicide, and wasted lives. NAMI's free education, support, and advocacy programs
provide hope and awareness that recovery is possible.
