05/04/2013 -

NAMI Rochester is excited to host their first NAMI Walk in 2013! The 1st Annual NAMI Rochester Walk will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Rochester plans to welcome over 500 people as they walk to raise awareness about mental illness while enjoying food
and entertainment that morning. The goal of the NAMI Rochester Walk is to raise both awareness and funds needed to support the mission of NAMI Rochester. NAMI Rochester’s mission is to provide support, education and advocacy to individuals and families of
all cultural backgrounds who are living with mental illness. NAMI Rochester is dedicated to educating the public about mental illness, offering resources to those in need and insisting that mental illness become a high national priority. One in four families
is affected by mental illness. The services of NAMI Rochester and our affiliates are needed more than ever. The struggle with mental illness can be difficult. NAMI steps in to help support families through the journey of mental illness. NAMI is a lifeline
for all those living with mental illness and their families. NAMIWalks brings together thousands of individuals and supporters to celebrate mental illness recovery, to honor those who have lost their lives to mental illness and to help raise funds, combat
stigma and promote awareness. Join Rochester to help raise awareness about mental illness and to raise money for the free vital support programs that NAMI offers to individuals with mental illness and their families. All the funds collected by Walkers will
