Press Copy: The Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council for the Concho Valley (ADACCV) will host its 9th Annual Let It GO! Recovery Rally & Run on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 8:30 AM at El Paseo de Santa Angelo (East Pavilion), located on the corner of E. Ave D and S. Oakes
(next to Los Panchitos Restaurant). The Let It GO! Recovery Rally & Run is one of many events throughout the nation to recognize National Recovery Month and celebrate recovery from alcoholism and addiction. Let It GO! will kick off with a 1M / 5K walk/run
race at 8:30 AM. Race-day registration opens at 7 AM and race day registration fees are $12 for the 1M and $17 for the 5K. Online race registration is available on and there is a small convenience fee for registering online. Race registrants will
receive a goody bag that includes a t-shirt. The race will be followed by speakers who will share their story of recovery from addiction and how it impacted their families. After the speakers, ADACCV will release hundreds of colorful balloons that represent
persons “letting go” of their addiction to drugs and alcohol. ADACCV is inviting San Angelo and the Concho Valley to join the fight against addiction and alcoholism and to celebrate recovery. Any individual can sponsor a balloon with a monetary donation in
an amount of their choice. For every $5 balloon pledge, donors will receive a raffle ticket for the chance to win one of four prizes: Nook Tablet, iPod Touch, Samsung Digital Camera or a $100 Visa Gift Card. Individuals who sponsor a balloon can have a special
message written on the balloon to commemorate a loved one or themselves. Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit ADACCV programs and detox expansion project. An expansion plan has been developed that includes an addition to ADACCV’s Cotton Lindsey Center
at 3553 Houston Harte Expressway in San Angelo. The expansion will provide 30 male treatment beds, 18 female treatment beds and 12 beds will serve as detox beds at any given time. At this time, there are no detox services available for the indigent population.
ADACCV’s mission is to save lives and create healthier communities. ADACCV is a 501c3 non-profit organization is licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services to provide substance abuse treatment and prevention services in the Concho Valley. For
