CHEP Addictions Conference  (5987)

Today’s society is plagued with substance abuse - babies are born addicted, teenagers are getting high on over-the-counter products and adults are abusing prescriptions and alcohol more now than ever before. This conference will provide an in-depth look
at these addictions; the affect addiction has on families and the various treatment options available. Ethical and professional boundaries will be addressed as well as a session providing updated information regarding the prevalence of abuse/addiction among
military veterans. Focus on various types of addiction in today’s society will be addressed through topic specific breakout sessions. Breakouts sessions will be offered on the first day and address topics such as sexual addiction, gambling addiction, gender
addiction, God, Drugs and Society, and HIV & Addiction. At the conclusion of day 2, a panel titled “100 Years of Sobriety” will provide an introspective look at addiction through the eyes of recovering addicts in a closing panel discussion
