Celebrate Recovery Month: Honoring the Workforce  (5774)

09/13/2013 8:30 AM - 09/13/2013 4:30 PM

This training opportunity is being provided at no charge to participants during Recovery Month to honor those who work in the field of substance dependence treatment and recovery. The morning workshop is an introductory training that explores the principles
of Motivational Incentives and evidence of clinical effectiveness. During this experiential workshop participants learn about the research behind Motivational Incentives, why it works, and how to implement the research-based “Fishbowl Method” to effect behavior
change. The workshop includes lecture, video, discussion and interactive components . . . with a few surprises! The afternoon session is titled Voices for Advocacy & Recovery. The importance of persons in recovery holding the light for those still struggling
to overcome their disease cannot be stressed enough. Representatives from the MO Recovery Network and Faces and Voices of Recovery will address the value of these voices, followed by a recovery panel.
