Prayer Labyrinth

Deepening Spiritually for Recovery  (6121)

09/19/2013 9:00 AM - 09/30/2013 8:00 PM

The Prayer Labyrinth Walk. All are welcome to use the newly built Prayer Labyrinth to help deepen their spirituality for their pathway to wellness. The prayer labyrinth was built on the grounds of First United Methodist Church, 421 Hardyville Road, and
is now available for all to use and to enjoy. A prayer labyrinth is an ancient tool that encourages prayer and spiritual growth. For centuries prayer labyrinths helped people reflect on and strengthen their spiritual journey. A prayer labyrinth is a metaphor
that models our spiritual path in life. Sometimes we turn toward God and sometimes we turn away. Sometimes we move closer to God and sometimes we move further away. This is a spiritual truth. Pastor Rick, pastor of First and Mt Beulah United Methodist Churches,
is quick to emphasize that “a prayer labyrinth has no special powers in and of itself – it is not a new-age thing. A prayer labyrinth is simply a tool to help us listen to the Holy Spirit and redirect our lives and our steps toward God – making God the center
of our lives.”
