On August 23, 2014 local American Indian organizations will host the 10th Annual Native American Family Wellness Day. Our celebration of family wellness is aligned with the importance of balancing lifestyles and promoting healthy families. The 10th Annual
Native American Family Wellness Day will be a FREE event. The Theme: “Give Me another 10 years of Health and Wellness.” Location: Pascua Yaqui Wellness Center: 5305 W. Calle Torim Tucson, AZ 85746 (Near Valencia and Camino de Oeste) The day will start with
a Just Move It 5K Run/Walk at 7am. Keynote Speakers: Jacob Santino Vega (Tohono O’odham) Promising Young Athlete; Alvina Begay (Navajo), Professional Runner; and Jude Schimmel (Umatilla), Inspiring Athlete and Scholar with her parents Rick and Ceci Schimmel.
There will be wellness activities for youth, adults, and elders to include: physical activity for youth and interactive health booths, free lunch, and raffle prizes. #NAFWD2014
