Greg Williams, Co-Director, Connecticut Turning to Youth and Families, is a twenty-six year-old young person in long-term recovery from drugs and alcohol since the age of seventeen.  He has a strong passion for carrying a message of hope and recovery supports to those suffering from alcohol and drug problems.  Through his eight years of sustained recovery, he has coached and supported hundreds of youth in their path to recovery and has gratefully watched these young people succeed in sustained recovery and rebuild their family relationships.  Being inspired by the strength, skills, and giving nature of young sober individuals, Greg has become a public advocate working towards creating positive changes in prevention, treatment and recovery policies for youth and families.  As an advocate Greg has presented nationally for Faces and Voices Of Recovery, on youth recovery supports and is currently a featured contributor on the Reclaiming Futures blog.  He has presented to legislative bodies and has been featured in many local and national news stories surrounding youth addiction recovery.

Greg is an experienced documentary filmmaker with a vast network of young people in recovery that have allowed him access to inspiring messages of hope, and capture their stories on video (Recent films include: Central Pride, Peer-To-Peer Results, and Vinnie).  The films have been used effectively as tools in schools, treatment programs, recovery groups, and even state policy meetings.  Now the films are being utilized as recovery support vehicles for youth and families to connect with via a new state-of-the-art website. Greg served as the project manager responsible for facilitating the construction and implementation of http://www.ctyouthandfamilies.org, and now works as the content manager responsible for updates to the site.  The site has received national attention as a promising and innovative approach to youth and family recovery support.
