Recovery Month Wins 2011 Platinum Ava Award

Recovery Month has won an AVA Platinum Award in the TV Spots/PSA category for 2011. The AVA Awards is an international competition that recognizes outstanding work involved in the concept, direction, design, and production of media.

The Platinum Award is presented to those entries judged to be among the most outstanding submissions in the competition, and are commended for their excellence in quality, creativity, and resourcefulness. In the 2011 competition, there were approximately 1,700 entries, and about 14 percent won an AVA Platinum Award.

Recovery Month promotes the societal benefits of prevention, treatment, and recovery for substance use and mental disorders, celebrates people in recovery, lauds the contributions of treatment and service providers, and promotes the message that recovery in all its forms is possible. Recovery Month spreads the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, that prevention works, treatment is effective and people can and do recover.
