Childhood Deprivation Can Lead to Pain, Adult Depression

Investigators from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln find that missed meals and detrimental conditions in childhood can be linked to pain and depression in adulthood.  In the research, sociologist Dr. Bridget Goosby explored how childhood socioeconomic disadvantages and maternal depression increase the risk of major depression and chronic pain in working-aged adults.
