Daily Meditation Helps with Mild-Moderate Anxiety, Depression

A new analysis of published research suggests the practice of meditation may provide as much relief from some anxiety and depression symptoms as antidepressants. The new Johns Hopkins review found that 30 minutes of meditation daily may help patients who did not have severe cases of anxiety or depression. “A lot of people use meditation, but it’s not a practice considered part of mainstream medical therapy for anything,” says Madhav Goyal, M.D., M.P.H., leader of a study published online in JAMA Internal Medicine.
