Marijuana Use Linked to Cardiovascular Complications and Death

The negative effects that marijuana can have on the brain have been widely reported. Now, new research published in the Journal of the American Heart Association reveals that using the drug may also increase the risk of cardiovascular complications and even lead to death, particularly for young and middle-aged adults. Marijuana is the most commonly used illegal drug in the United States. It is well known that the drug can cause brain impairments. But the investigators of this most recent study say that in previous studies, the team found that many young marijuana users were hospitalized as a result of cardiovascular complications.
