Voices for Recovery
Recovery is a process, a way of living, a new view on life, and a way of approaching the day's challenges. It is not an easy process. At times our course has gone off course and we falter. The beauty is we can stand up again very tall and start again. When we meet the challenge of the DIS-ease and re-establish values, integrity and purpose within and beyond the limits of our challenge; the aspiration is to live, work, and love in a community in which one makes a significant contribution. As a person in recovery, I have to face my fears, angers and resentments, but most of all it is being accountable for my faults and failures. Recovery is a process and without those people who were in my corner when I needed them most and who remain in my corner today, I haven’t met a challenge yet I can’t meet.
