The National Association of County Behavioral Health and Developmental Disability Directors (NACBHDD), a nonprofit membership organization, promotes national policies that recognize and support the critial role counties play in caring for people affected by mental illness, drug and alcohol dependence, and developmental disabilities.

MentalHelpInfo.Org is a compilation of information gathered by members of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health Southwest Suburban Site Board. Its mission is to learn about, educate, and advocate for all people living with mental illness.

Mental Health First Aid Program

The Mental Health First Aid Program helps the public identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Those who take the eight-hour course to certify as Mental Health First Aiders learn a five-step action plan encompassing the skills, resources, and knowledge to help an individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care.

National Council for Behavioral Health

The National Council for Behavioral Health is the national association of community providers that care for more than eight million adults and children across the country who suffer from mental illness, development disabilities, and substance use disorders. Its members employ more than 750,000 staff and provide mental and substance use disorder treatment, rehabilitation, housing, and community support services.
