Substance Abuse Librarians and Information Specialists (SALIS)

Established in 1978, the Substance Abuse Librarians and Information Specialists has special interests in the exchange and dissemination of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug information. SALIS holds an annual conference, publishes a quarterly newsletter, maintains a members-only listserv facilitating rapid exchanges of substance use information, and maintains a comprehensive list of bibliographic, statistical, and related databases covering all aspects of substance misuse.

Technical Assistance and Professional Training National Association on Drug Abuse Problems provides workforce development professionals working in chemical dependency treatment programs with valuable tools for preparing clients for work. The program provides one-on-one technical assistance to treatment program staff by offering customized in-services, consultation, assessment of services, and resources for optimizing employment outcomes.
